Public Safety

The Lincoln Fire Department has been proudly serving the community of Lincoln for over 100 years. We serve a population of over 5,500 Lincoln and Chester permanent residents covering a 97 square mile area. The area is comprised of rural homes, subdivisions, light commercial businesses, and heavy industry. US Route 2 & Maine Route 6 intersect in downtown Lincoln, Maine. With the continued residential and commercial growth, the department will see a steady increase in services provided annually. LFD provides mutual aid to Howland, Enfield, Lee, Mattawamkeag, Springfield, and Passadumkeag, and also provides Jaws of Life service to 12 miles of Interstate 95.

The Lincoln Police Department takes pride in its collaborative efforts with our community to find solutions to the problems that the Town of Lincoln faces and to improve Lincoln residents' overall quality of life. Our mission is to provide professional law enforcement services that ensure the safety of our residents and those who visit. The Lincoln Police Department has established programs with the schools such as The Every 15 Minute, Bicycle Rodeo, and drug awareness & bullying programs.
