The Howland, Lincoln, and Enfield Broadband Coalition continues to work towards applying for a Get Ready planning grant to support broadband expansion in our region. Three public information sessions were recently held – two in Lincoln and one in Howland. Residents and businesses of all towns continue to be encouraged to take a speed test from www.mainebroadbandcoalition.org and to also take a broadband survey created by the Eastern Maine Development Corporation. The link to the Speed Test and the survey is available on the three town websites and Facebook pages. It is important that we have this information for our application and we want to be certain that the residents and businesses want and need expansions to their service.
For those households or businesses lacking reliable internet – hard copies of the surveys can be picked up at the Town offices and the Lincoln Memorial Library. Completed surveys can be returned to any of the Town offices. We ask that surveys be completed by October 24.
