What is a Town Council Workshop?

A town council workshop is an informal public meeting where the town council gathers to discuss, review, and explore issues in depth before taking any official action.

Unlike a regular council meeting, no votes are typically taken at a workshop.

Instead, it’s a working session focused on:

• Learning about a topic (such as budgets, ordinances, projects, or policies)

• Having more in depth discussions or presentations

• Discussing options, concerns, and potential impacts

Workshops are usually:

• Open to the public for observation

• More conversational and less structured

• Intended to improve understanding and collaboration
